Wood Lara 18 February in Nottingham

Lee Wood (26-2, 16 KOs) in the first defense of the "regular" WBA featherweight belt defeated Michael Conlan in March last year, winning ahead of schedule in the twelfth round of a very interesting fight. On February 18, boxing fans will be able to watch Wood's next championship fight, this time his rival in Nottingham will be a dangerous Mexican Mauricio Lara (25-2-1, 18 KOs).

Wood's fight against Lara was supposed to take place in September last year, but the Brit suffered a biceps injury. The February clash with the Mexican should give fans a lot of emotions, because both Lee from Nottingham, who was declared a full-fledged champion in December, when Leo Santa Cruz left his belt vacant, and the Bronco from Mexico City usually give their fans spectacular confrontations.

Lara has not lost since May 2018, when he lost ahead of schedule to Eliot Chavez. Since then, Lara has fought twelve fights, including defeating Josh Warrington in 2021 ahead of schedule at London's Wembley Arena. The revenge ended in a technical draw, and now the Bronco plans to visit the UK for the third time.
