Former Interim UFC Lightweight Champion Dustin Poirier after defeating Michael Chandler stated that he would not mind holding a Candidates fight against Beneil Dariush. Earlier, the proposal to organize such a meeting was put forward by Khabib Nurmagomedov.

“This makes a lot of sense. Beneil has earned his place. He took on some tough guys and looked amazing doing it. We'll see. I'm not against it. Ultimately, it all depends on the UFC and the timing of my return, ”the American said at a press conference.

Recall that on the night of November 13 at the UFC 281 tournament in New York, Poirier defeated Chandler by choke in the third round.
