“I showed myself,” said the undefeated WBA light heavyweight champion Dmitry Bivol after defeating the mandatory challenger Gilberto Ramirez in the Saturday night main event in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.

“I defeated the best guy in the world (Saul Alvarez) and I was happy. And now I beat another guy who didn't know what defeat was. This means a lot to me. I have a goal. I want to become the absolute champion. I want to fight for another belt, but if I don't get that chance in four or five months, of course I'll fight some other fight."

Regarding the rematch with Canelo, Bivol said he would discuss moving up to super middleweight to fight for the Mexican's four belts, but added that "I'm a light heavyweight, that's my weight."

In a post-fight interview, Ramirez stated that he thought he had done enough to win, but the judges had done their job and he was grateful that he was given the chance to fight this fight.
