Former UFC champion Khabib Nurmagomedov told how he got the combat nickname "Eagle".
“When I signed a contract with the UFC, I wanted them to call me the Dagestan Eagle. I wanted such a nickname for myself, but the UFC said: “You will have Khabib “Dagestan Eagle” Nurmagomedov. Too long. Too much". As a result, we decided to shorten it and leave it just "Eagle". Well, there were no other eagles, and I agreed."
Recall that Khabib ended his career in October 2020, having “strangled” Justin Gaethje in a farewell fight.
