In April 2019, the discovery of endurobol in Miller's body was officially announced, and then it was reported that the American also passed a positive test for growth hormone and EPO. He was not allowed to the June championship fight with Anthony Joshua in New York. Miller was later replaced by Andy Ruiz and the Mexican won sensationally, and lost his belts in the December rematch. Despite these positive doping tests, the WBO suspended Miler for only six months. The American was supposed to return to the ring in July 2020, but an enduroball was again found in his possession.
Ultimately, Miller was suspended for two years, and it seemed that boxing fans would never see him in the ring again.
