Makhachev spoke about the fight between Chimaev and Nurmagomedov at UFC 280

Islam Makhachev, UFC lightweight champion, told why at the 280th tournament there was a conflict between Abubakar Nurmagomedov and Khamzat Chimaev.

“They told me about it after the incident, I didn’t see this skirmish myself. There was nothing serious there, there is already a video from a close distance, they just misunderstood each other. Before that, there was a conflict between Abubakarka and Chimaev, and they did not hush up this conflict. We saw each other, and this is the reaction ... In my opinion, he [Chimaev] hit him lightly with his hand so that Abubakar would say hello. And he was looking in the other direction. There was no insult from Chimaev, but Abubakar did not understand this. Because there was fuss, excitement. He told him: “Come okay, why are you hitting?!” Due to the fact that their previous conflict was not hushed up, it probably happened that way. There was a handshake, they hugged, the conflict was hushed up.”
