Makhachev explained why Ian could not beat O'Malley

UFC lightweight champion Islam Makhachev commented on the outcome of the fight between Peter Yan and Sean O'Malley.

“In the locker room I watched in pieces, and on the plane I watched it completely. Jan began to fight and work on the stand. And somehow he couldn't combine it. I think if he had chosen as a plan either only to fight, or only to work in the stand, to put pressure, he would have won. Jan would have interrupted him. He tried to fight, then, when his hands were not so fast, he tried to hit in the stance, and somehow the fight turned out hard.

Recall that Ian lost to O'Malley by split decision.
