Bob Arum's plans for Lomachenko, Haney and Stevenson

Bob Arum and Vasily Lomachenko

Bob Arum is dealing at lightweight and one of the aces in his deck is Vasily Lomachenko (16-2, 11 KOs), and the head of Top Rank has clearly defined plans for the Ukrainian's career.

The former three-weight champion will return in his first fight of the year on October 29, when he crosses gloves with undefeated Jamaine Ortiz (16-0-1, 8 KOs). If he passes this obstacle, and Lomachenko is the undisputed favorite to win, then in the next fight he will face the undisputed lightweight champion Devin Haney (29-0, 15 KOs).

The best Lomachenko-Haney in the next fight, according to Arum, will meet with Shakur Stevenson (19-0, 9 KOs), who, after the world titles in featherweight and second featherweight, is now irrevocably moving to lightweight.

“I want to have a fight between Lomachenko and Haney, and then bring the best in this fight to Stevenson,” Arum said bluntly.
