Gervonta Davis will defend his WBA Lightweight World Title for a second time in early 2025. Several contenders are fighting for the chance to face him.

'Tank' Davis has only stepped in the ring twice in the last two years. His most recent fight was an emphatic stoppage of previously undefeated southpaw Frank Martin. Davis planned to face super-featherweight champion Lamont Roach Jr in December, but that fight got pushed to January.

Keyshawn 'The Businessman' Davis made a strong case to be next in line for a title shot. He scored a knockout victory over Gustavo Lemos in his hometown of Norfolk, Virginia on November 9.

Lemos came in 6 pounds over the 135-pound limit, but the fight went ahead anyway. Davis dropped Lemos in the second round and finished him with a left hook followed by a right uppercut. He became only the second man to beat Lemos and the first to stop him.

After the fight, Davis didn't mince words about his future plans:

"The world title definitely gonna be next. In 2025 we got big, big plans for everybody in the boxing world. Hey, Gervonta? Knock, knock."

Fans want to see Davis more active after his limited fights in recent years. They're also eager for a unification bout with WBC Champion Shakur Stevenson. But Davis' impressive performance proved he deserves a title shot too.
