Mauricio Suleiman confirms that the World Boxing Council (WBC) will schedule a fight in the near future Deontay Wilder (43-2-1, 42 KOs) and Andy Ruiz Jr. (35-2, 22 KOs) as the final eliminator for the world heavyweight title.

The official decision on this matter will be announced at the annual WBC convention, which will be held in the second week of November in Mexico. The fight should take place in the first half of next year.

However, it is not a fact that the boxers will immediately agree to such a fight. Wilder could choose to fight Anthony Joshua in the UK and Ruiz could fight Joe Joyce next year for the WBO interim belt.

Wilder and Ruiz are associated with the Premier Boxing Champions project. If a duel between the two former world champions ever takes place, the event will take place as part of a Pay-Per-View pay-per-view broadcast in the United States.
