IBF and WBA reach an agreement on the mandatory protection of championship belts Gennady Golovkin (42-2-1, 37 KOs). A boxer from Kazakhstan holds the champion titles of both organizations in the middleweight division.

Golovkin's next opponent should be Esquiva Falcao (30-0, 20 KOs), who is the official contender for the title of the International Boxing Federation. The Brazilian had his last fight in May, and his fight with Golovkin should take place at the beginning of next year.

If a boxer from Kazakhstan wins against Falcao, then he will have to cross his gloves with Erislandy Laroy (29-3-3, 17 KOs), who is a mandatory contender for the World Boxing Association belt. Earlier it was reported that the Cuban will be the closest opponent of "GGG".

Gennady Golovkin lost on points to Saul Alvarez in his last appearance in the pro ring. For the 40-year-old athlete, this was the last performance under a contract with the DAZN streaming service.
