Charlo cleared of beating nephew charges

WBC world middleweight champion Jermalla Charlo (32-0, 22 KOs) dropped charges of beating their 21-year-old nephew. The boxer was arrested in this case by the police in February, and the incident allegedly took place in the summer of 2021.

The court ruled that there was no evidence against Charlo, and nine witnesses testified that the World Boxing Council champion did not use physical force in the incident. Now the American can focus on preparing for his next professional fight.

The last time 32-year-old Charlo boxed was in June last year. In June of this year, his fight with Maciej Suletsky was supposed to take place, but the fight was postponed due to an American back injury. A new date for this fight has not yet been officially announced.
