October 15 in New York Frank Sanchez (20-0, 13 KOs) will have his next professional fight. His opponent will be Carlos Negron (25-3, 20 KOs).
This fight was originally supposed to take place in January, but Negron had to pull out at the last minute due to testing positive for COVID-19. Negron was replaced by Christian Hammer, whom the Cuban defeated by unanimous decision. Previously, Sanchez also defeated Ef Ajagba on points.
The main event of the evening at the Barclays Center will be a duel between former world heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder and Robert Helenius. The event will be shown in the United States via paid broadcast.
On the same evening, fans will see the fight for the vacant IBF super lightweight title between Subriel Matias (18-1, 18 KOs) and Jeremias Ponce (30-0, 20 KOs). Also in New York there will be a rematch between Gary Antonio Russell (19-0, 12 KOs) and Emmanuel Rodriguez (20-2, 13 KOs). Last year's boxing match ended in the first round after an accidental headbutt.
