Khabib assessed the prospects of Islam Makhachev

Khabib Nurmagomedov, the former UFC lightweight champion, has spoken out about the future of his friend Islam Makhachev. "Eagle" is confident that Islam is capable of becoming the greatest lightweight of all time.

"Definitely, Makhachev can be the greatest lightweight of all time. Why I want him to fight Charles Oliveira is because he has 11 undefeated fights. The UFC has never had a fight like that. In the octagon, a guy with an 11-fight winning streak meets a guy with a 10-fight winning streak. There would have been a similar thing in the me vs. Ferguson fight that they tried to arrange, but that fight never happened. Now we have Islam versus Charles. Let the boys fight. If Islam beats Charles and then some other young guys, he could be the greatest lightweight of all time. There are a lot of young guys in the rankings right now, and they're only going to show up.
