Newly crowned UFC welterweight champion Leon Edwards said he won't make his first title defense until early next year.
"100 percent, my fight is next year. I've got some injuries to deal with. I'll fight early next year, as I don't want to be idle for too long.
The UFC holds its tournaments in London in March or April, right? So yeah, that's about the time I'll be back," Edwards said on The MMA Hour show.
Recall that Edwards knocked out Kamara Usman last weekend in the last minute of the fifth round.
