Former Bellator Welterweight Champion Rory McDonald announced his retirement from professional football following a TKO loss to Dylano Taylor in the semi-finals of the PFL Grand Prix.

“What an adventure my career has been, 17 years of professional fights. Everything flew by! I went through a lot of hard training that made me better, visited different parts of the world and met a lot of fans.

I learned a lot about myself. And not all of this is good. I made a lot of mistakes, but now I am 33 years old, and I have become better because of these mistakes. Thanks to them, I have matured, ”the 33-year-old Canadian wrote on social networks.

McDonald has 23 MMA victories, 10 losses and 1 draw. Throughout his career, the Red King has defeated notable fighters such as BJ Penn, Demian Maia, Tyron Woodley and Douglas Lima.
