In his debut fight in the first middleweight division, the former world champion in two weight categories Danny "Swift" Garcia (37-3, 21 KOs) won Jose Benavidez Jr. (27-2-1, 18 KOs) by majority decision in the main event of the evening at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.

Benavidez went forward on Garcia the whole fight, but constantly ran into oncoming blows. Judging scores: 114-114, 116-112 and 117-111. In the future, Garcia plans to continue his career at 69 kg.

After the fight, Garcia gave a very emotional interview discussing his mental health issues, ending with "I hope I don't become a meme with my crying face like Michael Jordan."
