Martinez and Edwards are close to signing a contract to fight

On October 22, at a boxing evening organized in the UK, a flyweight unification fight between the WBC world champion may take place Julio Cesar Martinez (18-2, 14 KOs) and IBF title holder Sunny Edwards (18-0, 4 KOs).

27-year-old Martinez lost in the last fight to Roman Gonzalez, but boxed in a higher weight category and did not lose the championship title. Edwards had his last fight in March, winning on points against Muhammad Wasim.

As part of the same evening, McWilliams Arroyo will fight Joselito Velazquez. The winner will be the mandatory opponent for the best in the Martinez-Edwards pair.
