WBA calls for Bivol-Ramirez fight

The WBA leadership obliged the parties to start negotiations on organizing a fight between Gilberto Ramirez (44-0, 30 KOs) and Dmitry Bivol (20-0, 11 KOs). The Russian is the WBA light heavyweight world champion, and the Mexican is the official contender for this title.

The teams were given 30 days to discuss this issue. The negotiation period will end on August 10 and if there is no deal, the World Boxing Association will schedule a promotional auction.

Recently, Joshua Buatsi received an offer to fight Bivol. However, in this situation, the Englishman will have to change his plans. Bivol collaborates with Matchroom Boxing, and Ramirez promotes Golden Boy Promotions.
