Alexander Povetkin (36-3-1, 25 KOs) announced his retirement almost exactly a year ago, but he probably got bored at home and does not rule out a return to the ring.

The almost 43-year-old Russian won Olympic gold in Athens (2004), and in 2011-2013 he was a "regular" WBA world heavyweight champion. At the end of March last year, he lost a rematch to Dillian Whyte, although he explained after the fight that he had a hard time during the training camp due to covid-19, which affected his form. But the fee for the fight turned out to be a weighty enough circumstance to eventually enter the ring even in such a state.

“Sasha” has recently also been marked by support in one of its social networks for the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

Now the former champion has admitted that he is thinking of returning to boxing.

“I don’t know yet if I will return to boxing, but I won’t refrain either. If I'm healthy, then why not? I haven't made a final decision yet," Povetkin said.
