Arthur Beterbiev (18-0, 18 KOs) said that he does not rule out the possibility of moving up to heavyweight in the last years of his professional career. The 37-year-old boxer knocked out at an evening in New York on Saturday Joe Smith Jr., unifying the WBC, IBF and WBO light heavyweight championship belts.
The Russian boxer, who is now represented under the Canadian flag, wants to focus on becoming the undisputed champion in the 79 kg weight category, but then intends to look for other challenges. One of them may be heavyweight for him, although Beterbiev himself does not specify when this will happen.
Beterbiev's next professional fight should take place in October. Briton Anthony Yarde will become his opponent, and the boxing evening itself will be held in London.
