Former Dominant UFC Minor Division Champion Joanna Jedrzejczyk announced her retirement from the sport after an early defeat from Weili Jean at UFC 275.
“I have been preparing for this fight for five months. I had daily hard workouts. Therefore, in an interview before the fight, I said that I was proud of myself and in any case I consider myself a winner.
Weili managed to surprise me with a backfist. We knew she would use wrestling, but I didn't expect her to be that strong.
I want to thank the entire American Top Team. Thanks to my coaches, sparring partners, family and managers. You know, I love life and join those fighters that include Daniel Cormier. I am ending my career. I love you all, thank you for your support,” said Jedrzejczyk in an interview after the fight.
Recall that the last duel was the second head-to-head confrontation between Jean and Jedrzejczyk. In their first meeting, held in March 2020, the Chinese won by split decision.
