Eddie Hearn reported that Saul Alvarez (57-2-2, 39 KOs) has to make a decision about his next fight next week. The Mexican will return to the ring on September 17 at a boxing event likely to take place in Las Vegas.
The most likely scenario is that Canelo will activate the rematch clause and fight a second fight with Dmitry Bivol (20-0, 11 KOs). However, Hearn is not sure if the Mexican boxer will take such a step.
Head of Matchroom Boxing admits the possibility that Alvarez will fight a third fight with Gennady Golovkin in September, and he will have a rematch with Bivol next year. Canelo lost unanimously on points to Bivol for the WBA light heavyweight belt, but still holds four super middleweight titles.
