Former world heavyweight champion Ukrainian Vladimir Klichko demanded to cancel the fight Saul Alvarez against Dmitry Bivolwhich will take place this Saturday in Las Vegas. For Bivol himself, such calls cause "sadness".

“I have nothing against Russian athletes, but we are talking about politics. Anyone who represents Russia should be punished in some way and suspended from speaking. This is the only way we will show Russia that the world is against this war,” Klitschko said a few weeks ago.

“I supported Klitschko throughout his entire career. I like his fighting style. However, as a former athlete, he must know that sport is different from politics. He is now a politician, and it is sad that he mixes sports with politics. Most importantly, the fans want to see me fight Canelo,” said Bivol, WBA light heavyweight champion.
