Riakporge-Turchi June 11 in the IBF eliminator

On June 11, London will host an interesting fight in the first heavyweight division between by Richard Riakporhe (14-0, 10 KOs) and Fabio Turchi (20-1, 14 KOs). The fight will become an IBF eliminator, but certainly not the final one, since in the latest ranking of the International Boxing Federation, the Briton is in 12th place, and the Italian is one position ahead.

The fight was originally scheduled to take place in the second half of March, but Turchi was unable to fight due to Covid-19 infection. The top two places in the IBF cruiserweight rankings have been empty for months now, so the winner is likely to take one of those positions.

The IBF cruiserweight world champion is Mairis Briedis, who will defend his title this summer against Jayem Opetaya in Australia.
