Spence stops Ugas, unifies WBA, WBC and IBF titles

To unify the WBA, WBC and IBF welterweight titles Errol Spence Jr. (28-0, 22 KOs) stopped Yordenis Ugas (27-5, 12 KOs) in the tenth round in the main event of the evening in front of 39,946 spectators at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.

Ugas shocked Spence in the sixth round, however Ugas' continuation was stopped by a questionable pause due to the loss of a cap. Spence took over in the seventh round and shocked Ugas, whose right eye had begun to close almost by this point. Spence continued to punish Ugas until the ringside doctor stopped the fight in the tenth round. The stoppage time of the fight was 1:44. At the time of the stoppage, Spence was leading on points 88-82, 88-82 and 88-83.
