"I can't wait to play in the US again," Tim Tszyu said in an interview with BoxingScene.com. - I dream of fighting in Las Vegas, but I don't mind returning to Minneapolis again. The audience here was incredible."
Tszyu (21-0, 15 KOs) entered the fight as a mandatory challenger for the WBO light middleweight title held by Brian Castano (17-0-2, 12 KOs), who will rematch with WBA, WBC and IBF champion Jermell Charlo . (34-1-1, 18KOs). Their reunion is scheduled for May 14 and is to be held in Carson, California.
Thus, it is not yet known when Tszyu can count on his title shot. One can only assume that he will be first in line to meet the winner of the Charlo-Castano pair, if there is one. Their first fight ended in a controversial split decision draw last July, and it has been almost ten months since they entered the ring in May.
Tszyu's plan is to stay as active as possible while continuing to perform in the US. The 27-year-old son of the legendary Kostya Tszyu believes that next time he will be much more comfortable in the American ring.
“I was too relaxed. Usually, before fights, I’m on edge and nervous,” Tszyu admitted. Here it took me a few rounds to get into my comfort zone.”
