Plant could face Benavidez in September

Former super middleweight world champion Caleb Plant (21-1, 12 KOs) will return to the ring in September. Negotiations have begun on organizing his fight with David Benavidez (25-0, 22 KOs).

For Plant, it will be a return to the ring after losing to Saul Alvarez last year. For his performance in the fight, which included four championship belts in the super middleweight category, the American earned more than $10 million.

Benavidez is already scheduled to fight in the near future. On May 21 in Phoenix, he will meet David Lemieux (43-4, 36 KOs) for the interim WBC super middleweight title.
