De La Hoya reveals possible reason for Alvarez's departure from Golden Boy

Head of promotion company Golden Boy Promotions Oscar De La Hoya suggested what could have been the reason for breaking off business relations with the Mexican superstar Saul Alvarez.

“Look, I’ve been thinking a lot about what exactly happened between us. Canelo said I wasn't betrayed and I can see where he got that from. I remember giving an interview in which I said that maybe Canelo should work with another coach who would show him a different technique, like I used to change coaches. Or like the same Ryan [Garcia] does. After all, it only benefits.

And I believe that it was this criticism directed towards Eddie Reynoso that Canelo did not like. So now I'm considered a traitor. Okay, it's all right. I don't have any problems with this. If Canelo comes up to me and we shake hands, then everything is fine. There is nothing of the kind in this. I don't hold a grudge against him," De La Hoya was quoted by BoxingScene.
