Smith-McCarthy rematch April 16th?

On April 16, at a boxing evening organized by Matchroom Boxing, a rematch for the title of European light heavyweight champion between Chris Billam Smith (14-1, 10 KOs) and Tommy McCarthy (18-3, 9 KOs).

The first fight of these boxers took place in July last year and ended with the victory of Billam Smith by a separate decision of the judges. The 31-year-old defended his EBU belt for the first time in November by defeating France's Dylan Bregeon.

The winner of the April bout is due to face Italian Fabio Turchi in a mandatory defense of the EBU title. All three boxers are highly ranked by the IBF.
