Munguia and Ballard exchanged punches in the first round. In the second, Munguia started throwing clear combinations, and in the third, he was able to shake Ballard with a left hook, pin him to the ropes, and send him to the floor with a few more accurate hits. Ballard was able to get up but remained shaken and the referee soon stopped the bout at 1:47.
