Former UFC Lightweight Champion Khabib Nurmagomedov told how he unsuccessfully joked on the legendary hockey player Alexander Ovechkin.
“I met him a couple of times. He is my good friend. I like it, a real legend. Once Ovechkin invited me to his game. At the time, I had lived in San Jose for 10 years. I came to the game. After the match, I realized that the San Jose Sharks were playing against Washington. I couldn't make out the players because of their gear. And the whole game I thought that San Jose is the club where Ovechkin plays. And they [San Jose] won. After the match, I wrote to Alexander: “Congratulations!”. He replied: "Thanks for the joke!". I clarify: “Did you win?”. Ovechkin replied: “No, I played for Washington. I wrote to him: “Sorry, I didn’t know about this,” Nurmagomedov said.
