Looks like plans Saul Alvarez (57-1-2, 39 KOs) move up to the first heavyweight will be at least postponed. Eddie Reynoso, who is the trainer and manager of the Mexican boxer, has revealed Canelo's plans for next year.
Alvarez is scheduled to return to the ring on May 7 at a boxing evening in the United States. According to Reynoso, the most interesting opponent on this date will be the world champion in two weight categories Jermall Charlo. This would mean another collaboration of the Mexican with Al Haymon and the Premier Boxing Champions project.
Reynoso revealed that Canelo is likely to only fight two fights this year. The second match will take place in September at the Mexico City Football Stadium. A third fight may take place in autumn Gennady Golovkin, but the Kazakhstani has yet to cross his gloves with Ryota Murata.
Saul Alvarez currently holds four super middleweight championship belts. Probably, both fights of this year with his participation will be held within this division.
