Vladimir Virchis passed away

Famous Ukrainian boxer, ex-European heavyweight champion, died at the age of 49 Vladimir Virchis: he was found hanged in Kiev, the police opened criminal proceedings. The body of Virchis was discovered by a passer-by on the night of January 28 in the Dnipro region. The police have started criminal proceedings.

“Tonight, the Kiev police received a message from a passer-by that he found an unknown man hanged near the house on Raisa Okipnaya Street. An investigative team and an ambulance urgently arrived at the indicated address, ”the police report says.

“At the scene, law enforcement officers found the body of a man without signs of life with a noose around his neck. Doctors pronounced him dead, and law enforcement officers sent the body of the deceased for examination. The investigative team documented the incident and seized evidence to conduct the necessary expert research.”

“Already in the morning, the police received a message from a local resident that her husband left home at night and did not return. The woman described the appearance of the missing person and law enforcement officers invited her to identify the deceased, who was found at night. As a result, it was established that the Ukrainian boxer Volodymyr Virchis was the deceased.”

“According to this fact, the investigative department of the Dnipro Police Department initiated criminal proceedings under Part 1 of Art. 115 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine - premeditated murder, marked "suicide". The investigation is ongoing."
