Two-time Olympic champion (2012 and 2016), Cuban Robeysi Ramirez (8-1, 4 KOs) started his professional career with a sensational defeat in 2019, but then pulled himself together and won eight fights in a row, including two in 2021. He is currently ranked fourteenth in the WBO featherweight division and wants to fight for the title this year. Today, the fans learned the date of the Cuban's next fight and the name of his opponent.

On February 26, on the undercard of the evening Josh Taylor - Jack Catterall in Glasgow, a fight will take place between 28-year-old Ramirez and 36-year-old Irish Eric Donovan (14-1, 8 KOs), bronze medalist of the European Championship (2010) and the European Union (2009). In the professional ring, things are not going so well for Donovan, and after losing in 2020 to Zelfa Barrett, the Irishman's ratings plummeted.

ā€œIā€™m already working on my physical preparation for the February fight with trainer Larry Wade, Iā€™m training with weights, Iā€™ll be running in the gym soon. Then I will start working with trainer Ismael Salas on strategy and specific boxing training. I want to fight two or three fights with quality opponents and reach the championship by the end of 2022, ā€said Ramirez, who is looking to get a fight with WBO champion Emanuel Navarrete.

ā€œEver since I won the Olympic title in London, I have always wanted to fight in the UK again. Scottish fans are full of incredible passion, and my opponent will be a tough Irishman. I will do everything in my power to give the fans a great show and win,ā€ said the Cuban.
