WBA, WBO and IBF world heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk said that he lost multi-million dollar contracts because of his political position.
“The situation is such that with hatred and misunderstanding separation, a lot of contracts are gone. Multi-million dollar contracts fell through. The companies refused to cooperate. Some said: “You spoke politically there.” And I tell them: "Where, show me?". And they answer: “Well, they are talking about you there.” So there is a difference between "they say" and "I say".
I lost quite a lot of money for my position. I don't regret it. Money is the easiest resource that can be replenished,” Usyk said in an interview with Maria Efrosinina’s YouTube channel.
Usyk had his last fight in September, defeating Anthony Joshua by unanimous decision. The rematch is expected to take place in April or May.
