Russian cruiserweight Dmitry Kudryashov commented on the postponement of the UFC bantamweight title fight of Aljamain Sterling and Petr Yan.
The fight was originally scheduled for March 5 at UFC 272, but today it became known that the meeting will take place a month later - on April 9 at UFC 273.
“I saw that Yan was ready for battle. Petr could hardly cancel the fight. Sterling throws words, but Petr has already broken him mentally. Everyone grabs attention as best they can. Sterling stirs up interest with his behavior. Confidence in the result is on the side of Peter Yan. I don't know who can beat him now. Petr already defeated him in his head. Last time was just a mistake.
"I believe that now he is stronger. It is simply impossible for Sterling to change in such a short time. What can he offer Petr Yan? Unclear. But what Petr can offer him is just clear,” Kudryashov said.
Recall that in March last year, Yan lost to Sterling by disqualification due to a prohibited knee strike and lost his belt. The revenge was supposed to take place on October 30, but the American withdrew from the fight due to injury. As a result, the Russian fought for the interim title with Cory Sandhagen, winning by unanimous decision.
