UFC heavyweight Alexey Oleynik of Russia commented on the last performances of his legendary compatriot Fedor Emelianenko and also spoke about the success of his Fedor Team.

- Several years ago, when Fedor Emelianenko was knocked out by Matt Mitrione, you expressed a completely logical idea that Fedor, in your opinion, lacks practice in foreign gyms. But not so long ago, Emelianenko, at 45, won a status victory over Timothy Johnson, and he prepared for the battle in Stary Oskol. Moreover, his students, who work with him in the same room, are fighting for belts in Bellator. How could you explain this?

- No way. Well done. Handsome men. This is the first thing. Second: these guys still went to other gyms and studied there. Including in America. Well, thirdly, you don't have to go to other gyms, but you need to bring something new to your workouts. If your training is the same for 10 years, then you will not change either. This should be done either by yourself or by the coach. The guys from the Fedor Team worked with our guys some time ago, and still, as I understand it, they are working. I'm talking about our guys - people from the Minamoto clan.

- Do you admit that in the future Fedor will be considered the bearer of a special and separate fighting philosophy and methodology, like your sensei Gennady Minka?

- I don't think Fedor is showing super-secret techniques. Rather, Fedor mostly conveys character, strength and spirit. Look at how Nemkov, Moldavsky and the rest win - straight, side and uppercut. These are the techniques that everyone knows. But you need to work them out to such a level that in battle you can beat your opponent at the expense of them. And if it doesn't work, turn on spirit and character. Fedor has a tough character, and he always had it. It can be seen that he is tired, but I am also tired. The main thing is that the guys see this core and can learn. Take the same Brock Lesnar - a terrible colossus with such tits, thighs and biceps. It would seem, look what a thing. But there is no core - and it’s not that. He flew unceremoniously, looks: he did not break. Immediately closed in the sink and got it. It has always been that way with him. He would have the character of Fedor - imagine what kind of car it would be! - said Oleynik.
