At the beginning of the year Sergey Kovalev (34-4-1, 29 KO) should have fought Bektemir Melikuziev, but due to doping in his career there was a pause of more than two years. However, the Russian plans to wear gloves again in the near future.

Krusher received the green light to perform back in May after a series of random anti-doping tests. Then he announced that he was ready to have a rematch with Canelo for free. The now three-time world light heavyweight champion is set to return to the ring in February. This fight could take place in Russia, where he has fought only twice in the last ten years.

The 38-year-old plans to pursue a career in the cruiserweight division. The specific date, as well as the name of Kovalev's rival, will be announced in the new year.
