Berinchyk defeats Chaniev in a tough battle

Denys Berinchyk in a difficult and close fight won by unanimous decision over the former contender for the world title Isa Chaniev and defended his WBO international lightweight title. The scores were 116-112, 118-110, 118-111. At the time of the fight with Chaniev, Berinchyk was in third place in the WBO ranking.

Chaniev had an advantage in anthropometry and toughness, he worked well on the body and was able to give Berinchik some problems. The Ukrainian acted more accurately, although his punches did not have enough strength to hurt his opponent, with the exception of the twelfth round, when Chaniev was slightly wobled by punches to the head. In the fifth round, Berinchyk' nose started to bleed, but the corner was able to cope with it.

Also that evening, the unbeaten super heavyweight Vladislav Sirenko (19-0, 16 KOs) scored a very strange TKO victory in the sixth round over Andrey Rudenko (34-6, 20 KOs). The fight took place with an abundance of clinches, initiated by Rudenko and in the fourth round the referee took a point from him for this. In the sixth round, the referee warned Rudenko in English that if he continued to hug, he would stop the fight and soon did so. In any case, a very strange decision. The time was 0:38. For Rudenko, this was the first stoppage in his professional career.

Middleweight Dmytro Mytrofanov (12-0-1, 6 KOs) defeated Berikbay Nurimbetov (8-5-1, 3 KOs), who did not make it to the third round, citing an injury to his right hand.

Lightweight Arnold Khegay (17-1-1, 10 KOs) scored a unanimous decision win over Vicente Martín Rodríguez (39-9-1, 21 KOs) in ten rounds. The scores were not announced.
