Thompson names greatest welterweight of all time

Former UFC Welterweight Title Challenger Stephen Thompson told who he considers the greatest fighter in his weight category.

“In my opinion, the greatest fighter of all time is George St. Pierre. This guy has done a lot of title defenses, it's incredible.

"I can’t say that Usman will not achieve this, since he is defeating all opponents. In a few years, he can achieve this status. Saint Pierre is my motivator and friend, he also came to this sport from karate. Now I find it difficult to choose someone other than him," said Thompson.

St Pierre fought his last fight in October 2017, defeating Michael Bisping via rear naked choke, and announced his retirement in early 2019.
