WBA Lightweight champion Gervonta "Tank" Davis (29-0, 26 KOs) successfully defended his world title by winning a unanimous decision over the second-ranked IBF Isaac Cruz (22-2, 15 KOs) of Mexico in the main event on Sunday night at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. The scores were 16-112 and 115-113 twice.
In the fifth round, Davis received a warning from referee Thomas Taylor for pressing his opponent's head down. Davis ended the fight with one arm due to an injury.
