Former UFC Heavyweight Champion Fabricio Werdum shared his thoughts on the fight between the current belt holder Francis Ngannou and Ciryl Gane on Feb 22 at UFC 270.
“This is a great fight as they trained together before. There is a video of one of the sparring sessions on the Internet, and Gane looked preferable in it.
"Obviously Ngannou is very good and very strong. I don't consider him a versatile fighter, but he owns the title, so it's hard to criticize him. Francis lacks ground skills, but perhaps Gane has a problem with that too. We rarely see them on the ground, so their fight can go completely in a standing position.
"It will be a great fight, and I will put it on Gane. Ciryl has a high fighting IQ, is cold-blooded and has excellent distance control. I do not think that he will knock out Ngannou, but I am inclined to believe that he will win by decision," said the Brazilian.
