On the eve Lopez and Kambosos met the allotted lightweight limit at the official weigh-in procedure. Lopez weighed in at 135 lbs (61.2 kg) and allayed any concerns about his difficulty cutting the weight ahead of his second title defense. Australian Kambosos showed 134.4 pounds (60.9 kg) on the scales before his first title fight of his career.
