Errol Spence Jr. (27-0, 21 KOs) announced that he has already returned to training and will soon begin preparations for the next fight. The 31-year-old American is expected to return to the ring in March or April next year. Spence recently underwent surgery after being diagnosed with a retinal problem in his left eye.

The health problems of 31-year-old Spence are likely the result of a car accident he experienced in late 2019. Since then, Spence has fought only one fight, beating Danny Garcia on points.

On August 21 in Las Vegas, the IBF and WBC welterweight champion was supposed to fight Manny Pacquiao, but due to health problems, he was forced to abandon the fight. As a result, Yordenis Ugas entered the fight with the Filipino, who won and ended the career of the legendary Pacquiao.
