Tszyu explains why Khabib did not go to battles under the flag of Russia

Former undisputed world light welterweight champion Kostya Tszyu commented on the fact that the former UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov never fought with the Russian flag.

“Claims to Khabib that he never went out to fight under the flag of Russia? I think at that time he spoke for himself first of all. When you perform in an amateur career and represent your city, your republic, your country - that's one thing. And here you are independent. You represent yourself first of all," Tszyu said.

Khabib retired last October after submission win over Justin Gaethje.
