Saul Alvarez (57-1-2, 39 KOs) is scheduled to face Eddie Reynoso in January to determine his next opponent in the ring. Reynoso has been not only the trainer but also the manager of the Mexican boxer, who is set to fight three times next year, for some time.
On Saturday night in Las Vegas, Canelo knocked out Caleb Plant and unified all the super middleweight championship belts. It was also Alvarez's first U.S. appearance on Showtime in more than seven years.
The 31-year-old Mexican is pleased with the partnership, and it is not out of the question that he will choose to fight other Premier Boxing Champions fighters. The Mexican, however, has no intention of returning to the middleweight division and will remain in the 168 category for now.
