World Boxing Council president Mauricio Sulaiman commented on rumors of a possible bout between undisputed super middleweight champion Saul Alvarez (57-1-2, 39 KOs) and WBC and IBF light heavyweight champion Artur Beterbiev (16-0, 16 KOs).

"Beterbiev has a mandatory defense [with Marcus Brown] in December, and then he can fight whoever he wants. It would be a great fight," Suleiman said about the clash of the Russian with Canelo.

"Beterbiev is undefeated and hits very hard! He will be a big threat to Canelo. Canelo, however, wants to go forward, so we'll see," the WBC president added.

Last Saturday, Saul Alvarez defeated Caleb Plant. The Mexican boxing king's next bout won't take place until next May.
