During the final press conference on Wednesday before Saul Alvarez (56-1-2, 38 KOs) fight vs Caleb Plant (21-0, 12 KOs) organizers decided not to have a ceremonial "face off" for photographers in an effort to avoid possible scuffles that occurred during the boxing media meet in September.
This time the competitors only performed, and the final visual confrontation before the fight will take place during the weigh-in ceremony on Friday. It will be the first official weigh-in in the U.S. since the start of the coronavirus pandemic and will be open to spectators.
Saturday boxing night will be held at the MGM Grand Complex. Fans at the event will also see Anthony Dirrell (33-2-2, 24 KOs) fight against Marcos Hernandez (15-4-2, 3 KOs). The 37-year-old Dirrell hasn't won in a professional ring in nearly three years and last fought in February.
