Robert Helenius (31-3, 19 KOs) hopes to challenge for the WBA world heavyweight title soon and could be designated by the association as an official title challenger. The 37-year-old boxer beat Adam Kownacki for the second time on Saturday.
"It wasn't a difficult fight for me, I trained for it for almost two years, so I knew what to do in the ring. I didn't even beat him as hard as I could because I didn't want to aggravate his injury. He's a good man, but I knew I was better than him as a boxer," Helenius stated.
"I'm aiming for the WBA belt now. I'm third in the rankings and after this win I should go even higher. I don't want to talk about specific names yet, because in recent months I've been focusing only on Kownacki," said Helenius.
The world heavyweight boxing championship belt belongs to Alexander Usik. The WBA also has a "regular" champion in this category, Trevor Bryan.
